Agents of post-truth politics? Exploring the communication strategies and tactics of the mining and energy lobby

Dr. Mitchell Hobbs  – July 27

This seminar will explore the communication and public relation strategies used by the mining and energy lobby to defeat the climate change policy agendas with which they disagree. It will examine four Australian case studies to consider the social dynamics and changes within the media and communications landscape that have allowed ‘post-truth political discourse’ to flourish in the contemporary networked public sphere.

Morning tea will be provided.
